I am somewhat concerned about the battery life. I have read that you can only get about 3.5hrs vs. about 6 hrs on the MB. I read a rumor that there maybe an upgrade coming to get longer life. Anyone know about this?
I'd advice you to wait till at least MWSF.
1. There may be the new ultra slim MBP that is based off the ULV C2D processors for super battery life.
I'm waiting for that. Ultra Slim is all I can think about....

2. The current MBPs have a lot of LCD issues, or rather to protect the feelings of those who own such laptops but are unwilling to admit it, you will have a high likelihood of receiving such a machine if you purchase now. It is wiser to wait till they have all been ironed out before buying.
I suppose it can get pretty thin if it runs cooler inside, but one thing about the ULV processors is that they are nowhere as fast as the usual ones.
Hence there is a trade off to be made somewhere.
And also, to make it thinner, means a smaller battery as well. Not only that, the display and fans likely add up to a bigger drain than the CPU.
With no optical drive perhaps they can put in a giant battery
Having recently migrated from a CD MB to a C2D MBP, I haven't noticed any drop in battery life. My MB never got more than 3 - 3.5 hours with WiFi turned on and the screen set to "pretty bright". 6 hours of battery would be crazy, unless everything was turned off.I am somewhat concerned about the battery life.
