Hello

I have managed to lose my MacBook restore discs that came with it when I bought it. Is there any way of getting a replacement, do Apple sell them in any way? Obviously when 10.5 comes out and I needed to restore I could just re-install off of that but until then I would be rather stuck if anything happened to my MacBook (touch wood that it doesn't!).

Thanks :)

i remember someone else had this same problem. i think the person just called applecare and asked them if he could get replacement disks for his computer. i'm not 100% sure, but no harm in trying it.

I don't know if Apple will help you if you call technical support if you do not have extended Applecare but if they do talk to you or if you do have extended Applecare they will send you out the disks that you need.

They will send you out a Apple copy though and not the authentic ones that you maybe expecting.

I have seen a few of these authentic disks being sold on Ebay so if you do not get anywhere with Apple or if you want the authentic restore disks you could try Ebay.

Edit: Thinking about this more i don't know if they will help you at all if you tell them that you have lost your CD if it was damaged or something that maybe a different matter.

I haven't got Applecare so I will probably just hope and pray that nothing happens to my computer (touch wood again!!) until 10.5 comes out and I buy that.
