.gif image sizes

Im trying to scale down a .gif image from 12kb to 8kb and need help. Im using ImageReady CS and Photoshop CS.

Either take out a few frames, resize it a little, or save it at lower quality.

Does Photoshop CS1 have the "Save for Web" feature? I found it to be very intuitive in helping to get an image to a desired size and playing with different options to reduce filesize. It's in PSE3, but I'm not sure if it's in CS or not.

when using save for web, choose less colors to be included and your file size will be smaller. Use 64 instead of 128 and your size will be in half.
