Gifted iPhone for text/games only set up

I was gifted an old first generation iPhone SE. I was attempting to set it up to use just as a texting and game phone for my granddaughter. I get to a certain point and it says it will replace my other phone. I don’t want to replace my OWN iPhone. How do I set this up to just use an extra text/game phone?

Has the phone been reset? Can you share more information about it wanting to replace your other phone?

You will need to create a separate Apple ID that is just hers. The problem you’re having is due to using your own Apple ID
