Gigabyte 6900XT Aorus Master as an eGPU for Macbook Pro

Hey,

I would want to know, is it possible to get a Gigabyte 6900XT Aorus Master working as an eGPU for Macbook Pro? I bought a Gigabyte 6900XT Aorus Master, but when I put it in an eGPU enclosure, and connect the eGPU enclosure to my Macbook Pro, nothing happens (or it doesn't recognize the GPU and nothing shows up in the external monitors connected in the eGPU). I searched a bit, and found out that, if I would have bought a Gigabyte 6900XT Gaming OC, then everything should work. In 6900XT Aorus Master, the device ID is 0x73af, which isnt recognized by MacOS, so that why it isn't working. So I thought is there a way to somehow change the device ID? I think I saw some post about installing OpenCore, but maybe that seems a bit extreme. Is there any other way to get it working? Or should I just return the 6900XT Aorus Master before the returning period ends.

I have used the eGPU enclosure with a Vega 56 GPU, so the eGPU enclosure is working.

Macbook Pro 16 2019 (Intel based) with Big Sur 11.7.4
Razer Core X Chroma eGPU enclosure
Gigabyte 6900XT

is yours a XTXH-chip? if so apple won't support it and only have drivers for reference models.

This 6900XT seems to be an XTXH-chip based on the device ID 0x73af. So there's no way to get this model to work?

from what i heard and read no, you better off returning and get a reference model.
