Has anyone had any luck getting there Gigabyte R9 280x (REV2) to run at 5GT/s? I read that you need to remove the R17 resistor, but there is no resistor at R17. It is blank like it has already been removed. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

If you are not 100% sure which one. You better forget about it, the real world performance improvement is virtually zero.

I've done the resistor removal. This is a very small resistor and it can be hard to do it right if you haven't dealt with this kind of thing before.

Like the above poster said, it barely makes any difference. Mostly, it's just a mental thing that might nag at you, but I'd recommend not stressing over it. I only did it because I am very experienced and have access to the right equipment. (And, by the way, I desoldered it.)

Just let it go and be happy.
