Seriously, I want some real and solid reasons why I should buy this phone. I have a RAZR V3 with some dead pixels. Don't give me that "WELL IT'S AN APPLE PRODUCT SO IT'S GONNA BE GREAT EVEN IF IT HAS A FEW SHORTCOMINGS" bit. And really, just ask yourself why you even need this phone.

nobody needs a $600 phone. it's all about want. and this is something you shouldn't be convinced to get. if you don't see the value in it and if you feel you need to be convinced to get an iphone, then it isn't for you. plain and simple.

tell me why do you even need to waste your time posting this topic
were not here to encourage a person to buy one. were here to talk about a new upcoming phone not about someones who wants another person to tell them why they should buy the phone.

Look at yourself. you came here to ask if you should get the iphone. Somewhere in your mind said maybe i should get a iphone or else you wouldnt be here.

i dont think anyone can convince you why you should buy an iphone except for your self. why dont you ask this question to a rep or wait till it comes out and play with the demo. trust me if you arnt sure just wait till it comes out and wait for people to review it.

how can we tell you why you should buy it if we dont even own it.

I'm playing this smart... i dont have to be the new kid with this phone. i think this phones not even going to wow me because i've notice a trend with apple, they put out a rushed device and correct it in the next gen. i'll wait a year, no problem. i'm still committed to t-mobile for another year.

got a crappy 4gb nano 1st gen awarded for being the best ipod agent at apple and i bought a 20% off employee discount macbook pro 17" which is also a 1st gen and they both suck compared to the later releases that were released within a couple of months
come on be logical.

Well all you really need a phone for is Phone calls, texting and the odd picture so I don't think its a need more a want you could spend the money on something better.

Then don't get it dude, i'm not here to make you a believer, I will leave that to G. Bush. I think it is an amazing phone and every reason I need to justify a purchase is clearly set out on www.apple.com. If you aren't into it then no worries, I have a slight suspicion there are a few people who will gladly pick up the handset in your place.

this is what i dont understand
why you would want us to help you when you judge every mac owner.
i dont think macs are always going to be super grate, i own one because i got a good employee discount.

I can give you 600 reasons why not to buy the iPhone. If I start now then I'll finish it before you can count to 100.

My wife is not a techie. She's got a DS, but for the most part, she doesn't fall for technology. She watched the demos on the Apple site and now, she must have an iPhone.

If someone can withstand that without the sense of "want" starting to take over the "need" portion of the brain, then the iPhone is clearly not for them.

the iphone isn't $600, its $500-the 8 gig is $600. All of ATT's higest end smartphones cost around $500... and they don't have anything close to 4GB of storage...

how much are they paying you at costco?

I actually quit that place last week. Mostly because I hated it (it's deeper than that, but I don't want to go into details). But when I was working there, it was $11/hr and Sundays was time and a half.

Yeah, I see the absurdity of this thread, but I'm bored. And I actually do invest my money on an education. But that's only twice a year. I started the thread because I wanted to see your replies. :)

By that logic I should blow away everything I have, start bunking with my imaginary friend Tyler Durden in a dilapidated house and start a Fight Club. I don't NEED all the things I have, they are all toys or luxuries and soon an iPhone will be among them. What it is with you guys who for some reason are not getting one and are adamantly trying to convince everyone else that they shouldn't either? Are you somehow afraid that we will get to enjoy something cool you won't have access to?

Se And really, just ask yourself why you even need this phone.

I don't needit, I want it. Stop trying to come in here, and change our minds. Do you think for some reason, I buy Apple products with out thinking about them? Does anyone do that? Granted Apple's earned that from me, and everything I've gotten from them so far has been great, but I still considered not buying an iPhone.

Simply fact is, I like its features, have the money, so I plan to buy one/

you know i'm not serious, try not to get offended i'm bored too.
this is my 2nd year in college and i'm broke as hell.

oh really, i just finished my first year of college, where do you go? please dont say UCLA :p

A girl once said to me 'Do you want to 'watch' or do you want to 'play' ?

I said both and I did...but whilst watching is nice ; playing is just in a whole different league!!

:)

i'm not planning to get an iphone and i haven't used one. but i'd expect that the iphone will have the best GUI, which is the biggest shortcoming of your V3. i'd also expect the iphone to sync seamlessly with address book, ical, dot mac, etc.

The first reply was all that was needed - if you need reasons, you don't want the phone enough. This thread headed south quickly, and so, before anyone goes too far, it's getting closed.
