Well, I'll still use it for streaming my in-house video libraries, via iTunes. But, really, the online streaming has gotten so bad that it's pretty much useless.

1. No Hulu plus or Amazon. OK, Amazon isn't that big of a deal, but Hulu!!! Come on...
2. NetFlix is now pretty much unusable. I used to get a 5 second delay, for about every thirty minutes of viewing. Now, however, I get a five minute buffer for every 5 minutes of viewing.

Yeah, this NetFlix degrade has been getting steadily worse, over the past month or so. It is now no longer a viable NetFlix option. I have a fast broadband connection, and NetFlix works great on my other devices (iPad, iMac, Roku). I have ATV2 & ATV3 units, and it blows on both of them. I give up...

I don't know whether it's NetFlix's problem, or Apple's. And I no longer care. I just know that it works on my other stuff, which also streams Hulu. Why the heck did I buy an ATV3?

Now looking into an alternative to Airplay, for my home library. Frustrated with this buggy little proprietary box!!!

Indeed Apple is very frustrating with the AppleTV. Why no Hulu Plus, Amazon, HBO Go, Cinemax Go, etc apps? Apple invented the App store, and yet we don't have apps for AppleTV. I do believe that we are getting "close" to apps, due to the new interface which basically looks like a bunch of apps... But not yet! It'd be really neat to have a Pandora app, etc..

Apple could have a killer device on their hands with the AppleTV, being only $99, but they just don't put enough resources into it. I know it isn't profitable... But they do have 80 billion dollars to blow :) ...

And why can't AppleTV group TV show seasons?!

Thats really odd. I've owned an ATV2 and and recently upgraded to an ATV3. I've only ever had a problem with Netflix on my ATV2, and that was when I still had 3mbps cable and I was simultaneously trying to downloading something on my laptop.

I've seen other people having the same problem, so I'm not saying you're lying, I'm just curious what could be causing it.

Yeah, there was a time when my ATVs worked well. Actually, I have a couple ATV2s and ann ATV3. But now, streaming buffer delays have rendered them unusable, for NetFlix. And there's still no Hulu.

Last night, I again fell in love with my Roku. Admittedly, it's UI leaves a bit to be desired. Then again, it's nice to be able to eliminate services I'll never watch, from the GUI. And really, I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to watch videos, with no buffer delays! Yes, I watched 2hr NetFlix movies, without a second of buffer delay! I watched 30 minute Hulu episodes, without a hint of delay! I even watched Amazon Prime movies, without any interruptions! I get the feeling my ATVs will now be gathering a lot of dust. I just need to figure out how to replace AirTunes functionality.

I don't know if it's Apple's problem, or NetFlix's, but I no longer care. And I don't care whether Apple or Hulu are holding that deal up. I just know that when I want to watch stuff, I want it to play reliably. And Apple is now failing miserably, on that front.

And yes, I'm starting to love my Roku.
