On the one hand, surprised that Giz gave it a favorable review given the iPhone flap. But for any long-term Giz readers, you'd realize that prior to the iPhone fiasco Giz was VERY much in the pro-Apple camp....so much so that they were repeatedly accused of being slathering fanbois.

But on the other hand, not surprised that Giz gave it a favorable review...its the 13.3" model and the reviewer directly compares it to the 13" MBP. There is no comparison...the 13.3" MBA trumps the 13" MBP in almost every category. When used side by side, you realize what a joke the 13" MBP has become in the "pro" line. It simply doesn't belong in the lineup.

They indicated this was a review unit, so I'm assuming it came from Apple. I guess Apple isn't too pissed anymore if they hooked them up with this.

Review units can come from other sources. Many of the larger merchants (MacMall for example) often supply review units as well. Its just an advertising cost for them.

What if you want more HDD than the MBA offers? What if you occasionally play games? What if you use the SuperDrive? What if you want an AMAZING battery life? Backlit Keyboard? 4GB RAM as standard? Ethernet?

There's plenty or reasons as to why a MBP is better than the Air.

If you need larger HDD, then get an external.
For games, use the MBA 13" or the 17" MBP if you really want to game on a laptop.
If you need a CD drive, buy the $80 superdrive (it is tiny and easy to tote).
The MBA gets better battery life than every MBP except the 17" one.
Backlit keyboard.....LEARN HOW TO TYPE.
4GB ram -> shell out the extra cash and pay for it whino.
Ethernet --> use the optional USB to ethernet adapter.

Any more questions?????
