when you go into your photo album and choose an image and touch it once to bring up a bottom tab bar (or whatever it's called) and if you click on the far-left icon it brings up a glass overlay (i don't know what else to call it) which has some buttons on it to use as wallpaper, email photo, etc.

i want to create one of these and maybe put some other controls on it. how do i do this? i can't find anything like this in interface builder.

Looks like a black translucent toolbar to me.

it looks that way to me too, but when you drag an instance into your view, you're only able to resize it's width, not height. and buttons can only be placed to the side of one another, not on top like my example :)

oh i see, so this is meant to be created programmatically at runtime, along with the buttons! thanks :)

out of curiosity, does apple provide a central location for all these types of components with usage examples? i'm now concerned there are many others that i might be able to use, but just simply don't know about, and the developer documentation doesn't seem suitable for finding this information. all i know about is what i see in interface builder.
