Glass on 3GS is recessed

The glass screen on my iPhone is recessed down. The top two corners sink in really far and the bottom left as well. The bottom right corner glass is even with the chrome bezel like it is supposed to be. I just got this phone yesterday as a replacement from Apple.

Can I fix this?
 
You can try fixing it your self, but you will void your warranty. Go back to the Apple Store and get a replacement, but make sure it is free of defects before leaving the Genius Bar. My brother went through three iPhones at the Genius Bar to find the perfect defect free iPhone.
 
People really need to stop being so picky. On top of that, having the glass a little recessed sounds like a good thing. It will keep the glass protected on a drop. But if you want to continue to get phone's replaced and contribue to the need for Apple to charge so much for our phones to cover people like you over something to trivial then be my guest.

So it will in fact cause problems?

I was just giving you a hard time. Forget it.

Anyway, about the exhange. I honestly hate being this way; I am working on it. I am going to keep this phone with the recessed glass, and I will eventually forget about it and it won't bother me anymore. I realize I am too picky, but it's this damn forum to blame. Everyone with their specks of dust and slanted keys.

Just be glad it's not recessed on the lower right side, right where you slide to the unlock.

I had a phone with that, and my thumb would get a bit sore if I had to unlock a bunch.
 
The price of the iPhone, if anything has remained constant or been reduced via subsidies. Replacement iPhones are mass produced just as NIB iPhones are produced. A replacement is something that Apple has foreseen since day one of its design and implementation or distribution.

A recessed glass can cause more problems than any iPhone owner would want; I for one, would not like all the dust and lint to get into the crevices caused by the uneven or recessed glass. I've taken my iPhone back to Apple for just that reason, and after paying $599 for my v1 iPhone, I definitely do not want a defective iPhone in my possession. Resale is another concern for not wanting a recessed glass iPhone. Just too many headaches for the iPhone owner. Bottom line, Apple needs to quit making bad iPhones or allowing unsatisfactory iPhones to make it to market....:(

Get a screen protector. The extra thickness that the screen protector adds will make the screen flush with the bezel and you won't feel an edge... plus, you'll be protecting your screen. I've done this on a few iPhones now and it works great! It's an easy and cheap fix.

Obvious production flaws in a $700 phone is not being picky. Maybe if people DO being back phones with obvious flaws, it may just force apple to bring back the quality of the 2g, although I highly doubt it.
 
The piece of glass is surronded by a rubber gasket, almost all ( not mine) iphones are uneven.

a) live with it
b) return it
c) remove two bottom screws, remove glass, replace glass, see if it helps

Does the glass come off fairly easy? Should I just use a suction cup?
