glass versus plastics screen protector for apple watch?

I’m following this thread. I want to use a screen protector on mine but don’t know which one to use.
I like the thin film Zagg one. I had Best Buy apply it for me and I can’t even tell it’s on there. Recently I banged it off a doorjamb and scuffed it though—but only on the film! The watch face is completely fine. So, it’s served a good purpose for me without altering the look of the watch at all.

In the upper left corner I did somehow get a towel fuzz under the corner while I was swimming and drying off. I don’t know how often you’d plan to get it wet. But otherwise this has been on my watch for a few months now and no peeling, bubbling, or other issues. The towel was kind of a freak thing!
No, I paid the $7 fee to have Best Buy apply it. Worth it, cause I suck at them!
I recently installed the skinomi on my series 4 and can’t even tell it’s there.
I been using this brand for several years and love it. Plus they have a lifetime warranty for putting it on wrong. So that’s a plus

I've never had any luck with glass protectors, they've all been junk. The edges don't stick, just awful, in my opinion. I use these and never had a problem, like stated above, you don't realize it's there. Yes this is the ones I use also.
Use a hair dryer if possible to speed up the process.
I got it right the first crack so I have 5 more for the next couple years, because from past experience this brand is durable and will hold up really great.
I agree, hair dryer is a must! I just changed my wife's screen protector this weekend. There was a spot on it and wanted to make sure it wasn't on the screen itself. (luckily it wasn't) I was playing around with the protector I removed and I'm impressed with how hard I pulled on it and it always returned to shape. I'm amazed by silly, trivial things I guess. To protect our watches from scratches in day to day usage, I think they're great.
I don't think there is an answer to this question which will be true for everyone.
In my drawer right now I have a pile of film protectors which I do not use anymore: Tauri, IQ Shield and one other. I would carefully apply them all after cleaning the watch with alcohol, use the hairdryer to help it set.
None lasted more than 2 weeks for me. Inevitably, edges get stuff under them and it all starts bubbling up and looks like crap. I also dislike the slight stickyness of the plastic film.
Then I switched to Zagg glass protector and those last me a few months. I'm rough on my watch; I rock climb (indoor) which means I have chalk on my hands often. I then touch my watch to keep track of my climbs (using an app for that). I also will wear my watch when cutting grass, changing oil on my car, or whatever else it is I'm doing.
Zagg usually goes by being smashed / cracked. Right now I have two edge cracks and I'm waiting for the 3rd before having it replaced again.
The drawback is that there can be situations in which Zagg glass protector will cause touch response to not be as sensitive as it is with film or naked watch.

I work almost half of my 12 hour days (5 days a week) inside a freezer that’s below 20 degrees Fahrenheit and I must say that the skinomi film protector holds up well. I bang my watch on metal shelf racks, wooden pallets and forklifts; but I have yet to see a scratch. I have a thin plastic bumper for my watch which helps keep the edges of film from bubbling up and protects my actual watch body.
I really can’t tell that my film protector is there, but yet have the confidence that it protected my screen when I accidentally bang my watch on things.
I haven’t wrenched my truck yet, but need to rebuild my front end suspension soon and I believe it will hold up then also.
