Globe on maps

I remember liking the way that when you continued zooming out on Apple Maps, the Earth would show as being spherical. Now on iOS 11 (could have been sooner but I haven't noticed) - it's a flat map and I can't find a way of viewing it as a globe.
Anyone know if this can be changed?

Edit: Ignore I figured it out on ios10. I had to be in 3d first and not 2d

Yea, I just checked my iPhone (iOS 11) and it is a globe also. The OP is mistaken or has a bug.

Yep you're right, has to be in 3D first. Works now
