I played with the 24" iMAC for an hour at the apple store and
diammmm the bright iPhone ad was there the whole time.

Anyone find the iMAC glossy display a problem in the apple store
but NOT a problem at HOME???

I have used one in an Apple Store and didn't even remember that the screen was glossy!

I noticed the same thing when I went to the store to get mine. The bright spotlights everywhere in an Apple Store are an atrocious environment in which to display the new iMac. It was reflection mania. Once I got it home, the glossy display wasn't a problem at all.

yes. Wife and noticed the reflections and glare were minor a annoyance in the store. It's a non-issue at home.

I'm waiting to test them in a better environment before I make my mind up.

I wasn't the happiest in the store either, but once I started to play with an application I tended to not notice it as much. Only when I wanted to do some fine editing work did I have to shift my head. I ordered one anyway - Din't want to wait for "yet the next imac" to go to intel...
