Gloves for drawing/writing on the ipad

As we’re heading into winter for many of us, and this will be my first winter drawing on the iPad, I’m looking for recommendations for fingerless gloves that won’t scratch my screen. I usually use merino wool hand-warmers but I wasn’t sure if wool rubbing over the screen would be problematic, even if it is super soft merino. I looked for something microfiber but I’m not having any luck, everything seems to be nylon. Thoughts?

I guess he used to use some kind of bamboo gloves in warmer weather but they don't make them anymore. It looks like the gloves on the right in the video are just regular touchscreen gloves. I *think* you're safe with those, but I'm the same way -- especially having to go w/o a screen protector now, I've been really delicate with drawing on the screen.

Wool is not going to scratch the screen. If you will be drawing in environments where you need a wool glove instead of a cotton one, I think temperature may be an issue.

The thing to be concerned about with any art glove is making sure there is no grit under the glove... it is the grit that can scratch.

I know this artist who swears by a glove called the bamboo glove. Haven’t tried those. But for fingerless gloves, I always buy a cheap pair from this Chinese couple who have a table on 71st and Columbus in NYC for $5.

I wear wool because I’m a knitter and I like wool - superwash wool is softer and easier to clean than cotton - it doesn’t get stiff if you flat dry it, it’s easy to keep its shape after a wash, etc. It’s not a temperature thing, it’s a preference thing.

Ah... sometimes I over-think things. you'll be fine with a wool art glove.
