I have recently purchased a used Glyph Raid SSD 4tb drive and tried doing a benchmark speed test and I was seeing 30/40mb/s for read write? (should be up to 950mb/s)
I have tried to format the drive but I am still seeing the same issue and I have tried a couple of type c cables..
Any help would be very much appreciated!

make sure the cable you are using is not a USB 2.0 cable.

those are USB 2.0/Power Delivery (PID) speeds.

just shows what a mess USB is! what a particular USB cable is capable of is NOT often clearly labelled.

Ordered a new thubderbolt 4 cable and straight away resolved my problem! Well still only 50% speed on the macbook vs the iMac but thats a know problem with these macbooks anyway from what Ive heard…
