I updated to the GM (build 13A340 according to my Settings > General > About), and now OTA Software Update popped up and is prompting me to update to "iOS 9 Public Beta 3"...

Cant seem to make the notification/update go away.

Looks like most people who updated and restored from the PB to GM are seeing this. Go into settings, storage, manage storage and remove the iOS9 PB if it's already been downloaded. It's something like 1.5GB, so you should see it at the top of the list alongside your apps. Then go into general>profile and remove the beta profile. Once you've done those two things, press and hold the power and home buttons to do a hard reset. That did the trick for me.

that stopped it from saying theres an update, but it still shows a red 1 on the Settings App, then grey 1 on General and Software Update.

Bump. I'm having the same problem because I downloaded the public beta for iOS 9.1 profile but chose not to update. I can't get rid of the prompt and it happens EVERY TIME I unlock the phone. Please help!

It's not going to go away until the GM is officially released OTA, and you then update. Or unless you decide to try 9.1.

Installing the GM via iTunes without deleting the beta profile is causing this issue. Apple didn't make it very clear for PB testers to remove the beta profile before updating, but they also probably didn't expect most PB testers to grab the GM from torrent sites...

Yes I updated via iTunes before removing the beta profile so that is most likely what caused it.
I had to do a restore after removing the profile to make the settings notification to go away. I suspect it will remedy itself Wednesday so I would hold off til then.
