I was reading the ole' barefeats Intel mini vs PPC mini tests (http://www.barefeats.com/mincd.html), and noticed that the GMA950 trounced the ATI9200 in the iMaginator Core Image test, but the results were reversed in the 3D gaming tests.
So, my question is whether the GMA950 is better for Core Image accelerated tasks like real time preview of effects in iMovie and iDVD than the 9200 is, and indeed nearly as useful as the x1600 is in the iMac (based on the iMovie rendering test in the same article), although the iMac does much better in the iMaginator test?
Lastly, is this simply a function of the CoreDuo being nearly as fast as a Dual Core G5 and so Core Image is just moving all the work on the CPU anyways, or is the GMA950 just good as this sort of task?
