my primary mail account is gmail. i also have a yahoo account.

can i forward my gmail to my yahoo account, use yahoo push, and use gmail as my outgoing server? all from iphone?

Why not? You'd just have to set it up manually and not use the iPhone's pre-set Yahoo account set up. But you can find the settings for the Incoming Mail server (its something like imap.yahoo.apple.mail.com or something long and crazy like that).

i thought this would allow you to have push email, while still using gmail as your primary email account.

work around.....

i set up a new yahoo acct this am iphonename@yahoo.com, forwarded my g mail to that and set it to show reply to g mail acct. i have not activated phone yet, as i was trying to figure how to set mail up. i have heard yahoo is easy. so iw ill soon see if this works.

found it, but it doesn't seem to work. i forward mail recieved to gmail to yahoo, it pushes to my phone... i reply to it but the reply to's from that say yahoo, not gmail.... though i changed through the web the reply to setting to my gmail address...

am i missing something?

Is it possible to set up gmail going to yahoo and then pushing to your iphone? But still have gmail as outgoing mail?

no .. it isn't possible. this has been asked billions of times. the only hope we have is that gmail introduces push mail for iphone users. since a google exec sits on apple's board, i am surprised it hasn't happened yet. for now, be happy with the checking every 15 minutes. maybe apple will allowed it to check ever minute in the future.
