Gmail app - how to keep app notification sound vs default iOS

I have set the sound for the Gmail app notification to use the specific tone from the app. I set up 16PM as new phone.

The sound for new mail (all mail, or high priority) uses the Gmail tone I selected, but then a few hours later, all the Gmail notifications are using the default iOS tone.

I have multiple Gmail accounts. I have tried changing the notifications so only one account gets alert.

Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure that you have one of the alerts selected (Lock Screen , Notification Center or badges )

I already had badges selected.

After selecting Lock Screen alerts, the phone now plays the sound from the Gmail app. Thank you!!!

Is there a way to change the sound for Home alerts?
