Gmail can receive but can't send

It's pissing me off!
I can't get it to send... it keeps saying the server has timed out.
What can I do?

I'm using WiFi... it's a 1.1.3 iphone that I had unlocked and is now running 1.1.2.

Even now, as we speak, I'm trying to watch a video on YouTube but it won't load even though it says 'Loading Movie'.

It just always times out... so annoying.
