I just did the latest update last night and woke up this morning, booted up and now my gmail account in Mail isnt working. It says its a port 995 error, i've redone all my gmail settings, gone through connection doctor and still dont know if its gmails server problem or my computer. the specific message i get is
"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account "Gmail" or try again.

The server error encountered was: The connection to the server "pop.gmail.com" on port 995 timed out."
Any advice??
 
Have you tried the Non-SSL connection? Wait, can you even do that???

Otherwise, I know they were having intermittent problems today...at least with their webmail.
 
i have the same problem. I also have never been able to send emails from Mail.app. i have to go to gmail.com to send emails. Anyone got any ideas about what im doing/not doing?
 
Had the exact same issue earlier today. Waited for a couple of hours and upon connect was asked for my password for the account (again). Now everything is fine.

Not quite sure what happened, but it appeared to have worked its way out.
