Gmail Notification Center Bug?

I am using mail.app for my Gmail and iCloud accounts. When I get an email with iCloud, notification center acts appropriately. With Gmail, however I get 2-3 notifications for one email (the same email). I have tinkered with all the settings I can to figure this out. I'm hoping someone can help me out on this, as its rather annoying. I have included 2 examples.

repeated notifications

I'm seeing the phone repeatedly telling me about the same gmail message over and over. What the heck. it's got to be an IOS6 bug. it's quite annoying.

I'm unsure about the iOS doing that. I am having the problem within Mountain Lion's Notification Center.
