I heart gmail. Me.com is good too, but I'm afraid gmail is just superlative.

At present I forward everything from Gmail to Me.com just so I can have iPhone push email. It's a pain, and to be honest, for iPhone I prefer Gmail's safari based client.

I want an App which pushes a badge, a sound, and perhaps the email subject and from, as soon as the email arrives.
When you open the App it could take you to the Safari gmail client, but without all of Safari's clutter.
Is this technically feasible?

I'd pay several pounds :D

The new OS (3.0) will make this possible. It's just a matter of time before a developer makes it.

I basically have this made, but it works as if you are getting text messages.

I've been testing the whole time using IMAP through GMail... I'm not sure if I am going to be releasing it officially though... The more I see like this the more likely I am to release it, though.

Wouldn't you need a giant mailbox on your server with EVERY customer's Gmail account logged in 24/7 to accomplish a Gmail push app? Either that or check every customer's mail ever 2 seconds (if you want actual push). I would never trust a Gmail push app from anyone other than Google (or Apple if it's added to the Mail.app). The other Gmail apps work fine for what they are (like Gmate) because your information isn't going anywhere other than Google. Once a random 3rd party developer makes a push Gmail app, that developer needs to store your information in some way shape or form.

OMG release it.

I basically asked for EXACTLY what you developed. If one person vocalises their want, surely there are lots who also want in silence!

I'd buy
