In my gmail account are 2 labels that i don't know if i need and i think they could be related to the iphone.

I have [gmail]trash and [gmail]spam.

I also have "trash" and "spam" labels that are "system labels".

Is there a need to have [gmail]trash and [gmail]spam if i have the system labels of spam and trash?

I know that when you move emails on your iphone to different folders they do certain things such as archive, or star. So if i deleted the [gmail]spam and [gmail]trash labels would that remove any functionality of moving/deleting, etc of my email.

Some of the articles i've read on imap stuff show a [gmail]/trash and [gmail]/spam but i don't see the "/" on mine.

Thanks.

I have a label for IMAP trash (which had no labeled messages), but I don't seem to have the ones you have. I have GMail set up as a "Gmail" account on the iPhone (not using Exchange server for push).

I have mine set up as a "gmail" account too and not exchange.

Interesting. I wonder where those labels came from. When i look in those "folder" there is only some older stuff in there.

Anyone else have these.

I want to delete them but don't want it to mess anything up.
