go back to 4.3.5 from 5.0

help me please I need to downgrade my iphone back to 4.3.5 from 5.0 I cant fint the firmware and itunes doesnt seem to want to let me select diffrent firmwares does anyone have clue what i need to do?

I need the downgrade because some of my music apps arnt working and need them for a gig tomorrow

CORRECTION: You can downgrade on a non-jailbroken device. Tiny umbrella does not require you to be jailbroken in order to save your SHSH blobs. It's just the overall majority of users are jailbroken.

i dont know if what was said above is correct

but ive down graded from ios 4 down to ios 3.1.3 on my old iphone 3g

i just downloaded the OS then downloaded a program to pull my iphone out of recovery and bobs your uncle

i dont know if that works the same on the 4 or 3gs though

The iPhone 4 can't run 3.1.3. The 3Gs still needs SHSH blobs. The iPhone 3G has soft SHSH blobs for 4.X firmwares and does not require them for 3.X or 2.X firmwares.

OP- are you the original owner of the phone, or did you buy it secondhand? If you bought it from someone else, maybe they saved SHSH blobs for a previous firmware (if you're really lucky.)

It's worth a shot- download TinyUmbrella. Run it, and connect your phone via USB. It will tell you if any SHSH blobs are saved. Report back with results.

Has Apple really stopped signing 4.3.5? Wouldn't it have to continue signing so that you can do a restore on older devices (such as the 2nd-gen Touch)?

NB: I'm new to all this; I'm on a first-gen device which doesn't require a signature. It's just a question

Apple still signs 4.2.1 for the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, but not for any other device. The signing window for 4.3.5 closed a few days ago, Monday I think.

It must be theoretically possible to get 4.3.5 back on there but I guess that it's in the "too hard basket" (and might involve very long-running brute force attacks).

The blobs are not only model dependent, but unique to each device. It is possible to remove the requirement for the SHSH blobs, but an untethered bootrom exploit is needed. So far this is only the 3Gs and older, but no one has done it yet. The SHSH blobs are encrypted with Apple's private key. The key is 128 or 256 bit, so brute forcing it would take a very long time.
