Go figure, Apple goes DisplayPort 3 weeks after I buy a 23-inch Cinema

Just my luck - I happen to buy a 23-inch Cinema Display to connect to my (as of this post) previous-generation Intel iMac. 3 weeks later, it's discontinued and replaced with that cool LED Cinema Display.

Hence, my question: Let's say I bought one of the new generation iMacs today. I assume it's possible to use my 23" Cinema with it, but... I haven't the foggiest idea how.

Almost related, but I don't want to start a new thread: anybody know when they'll come out with a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter? Or does it exist and I can't find it?

If by they you mean Apple, then I doubt they ever will. As already stated MonoPrice already carries the Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. MonoPrice also carries a Mini DVI to HDMI adapter.
