Hey guys,

My first iPhone app GoContact is now available on the AppStore for those of you who are interested!

It lets you send contact info from your Address Book via email or SMS. Since the iPhone doesn't support copy/paste, I got annoyed with having to write down my friends' numbers and then manually type them into a new email/SMS so this is my solution!

Please let me know how you like it!

Cheers, Tyler

Not working for me!

Hi Tyler,
Are you the same guy that used to develop those nifty Palm OS applications way back? :)
I bought a copy of GoContact yesterday, but the SMS thingy isn't working for me at all! I live in the UK and have tried so many combinations without success (straight dial, with international code, with leading zero - no show!).
I thought I should post this in here first before giving a negative review in the app store.
How do I get it to send contacts via Teleflip/sms?

hi Himpressive,

Yes! This is my first iPhone app though, thanks for trying it!

So apparently TeleFlip requires a 10 digit number so I'm assuming they only support US/Canada as of now (according to their website at http://www.teleflip.com). I'm sorry that it hasn't been working for your UK numbers, but I guess this is the reason why.

Although for now you may have to stick with email, the good news is that Apple responded to my request for native SMS support (so GoContact would automatically create a new SMS in the actual SMS application!) and said they are working on supporting it. As SOON as Apple supports it I'll issue a new version that will be a free upgrade! Also right now i'm working on v1.2 which will feature a little UI overhaul to make it more intuitive and add support for mailing addresses, URLs, and notes.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do (including refund if TeleFlip was not what you expected)! And thanks for posting here before iTunes.

cheers, Tyler

No worries Tyler.
You don't have to refund me. Consider it as my humble contribution towards making the iphone user experience a better one :)
You may want to include me on your beta testing mailing list though ;)
