I am sorry if I missed the answer to the following in the forum: Is there a way to reinstall 10.11 without it being 10.11.1? The 10.11.1 update seems to have a rendering bug in the PDFKit, which is making it impossible for me to work.

(I am under the impression that if I do a clean install of the OS, it would be 10.11.1)

Any help would be very appreciated.

If you have a copy of the 10.11 installer, then it's possible. Create a USB installer, boot from that, use DU to wipe the SSD/HDD, and then install.

However, trying to find a safe version of the installer, might be tricky. It won't be available on the MAS and I wouldn't recommend torrenting it, it may have been tampered with. Hopefully you might have one filed away.

Alternatively, if your device is new and you bought it fresh with 10.11, you might be able to use the Recovery option. I believe it installs the original shipped OS... Although, I might be wrong.

Recovery will put 10.11.1 on computers now, too. The only way to get back to 10.11 is to use an existing backup or existing 10.11 installer.
