A month ago I decided I've had enough of PCs and bought my iMac 20. As we say, life is not the same anymore...:D I just cannot imagine using Windows again (at least at home, at work I'm probably condemed to continue doing that until I die...).

So now to my next project. I put my Dell laptop for sale, and am starting to think about a shiny Macbook for my wife and my occasional living room usage. Since my iMac has already set me back 1500 Euros (why can't we get the same prices as you guys get in the US....:( ), I am thinking of finding a lower end macbook in the 2nd hand market.

My questions:

1. What are the upgrades I can do subsequently without voiding my Apple warranty? I am thinking of upgrading the RAM (probably immediately - don't think I can run on 512 MB for too long).

2. Can I upgrade the HD? Will I be voiding the warranty?

3. Do I have to use an official reseller (ouch) or can I DIY?

Thanks in advance

On Macbooks the RAM and Hard Drive are both user replaceable and will not void the warranty.
