Originally my plan was to sell my 06' 15" MBP and move to a 13" air for reasons of not losing too much screen real-estate. Now, I can't get over the form factor and portability of the 11" model. Honestly I don't do much more than, web, music, watch video, and light photo edit.

Anyone else follow this similar path? Thoughts?

From seeing a friend with the 11" model, and having a 10" netbook myself, I'd say movies (and especially editing photos) would be rather cramped.

I have the 2010 15 inch with the larger resolution screen and the 11 inch. Speed is fine on the smaller machine and its great for working away. However moving web pages around to see whole images and working with PDFs I find it far less convenient on the 11 and can't imagine moving over to just the 11, even with a secondary display as when working (and with the car) I always take the 15 inch. I regret not buying the 13 inch for these reasons.

I hope that this make your decision easier.

I wouldnt go to the 11", IIm sure its cool but you might get tired of it. I have the new 2011 MBP 15". Im thinking about selling it and getting the 13" MBA, and since I just solf my ACD, I might get an iMac as well for the power. If you dont do anything too intense, I think you will be okay with the 13". I would get the 4GB upgrade.

I would go for a '11 (definately more portable and light than '13), but have an external monitor at home for longer sessions. I have both an MBP 15' and MBA 11', and I couldn't live without the MBP for serious work ( a full day of writing an essay or whatever on a MBA 11' would be strechting it..)
The 11' is however a brilliant laptop, highly recommended.

Stick with the 13" MBA. I have a 13" 2011 MBP and think about exchanging it for the 13" MBA if it comes standard with the following, backlite keyboard, 4gb of ram and 320 ssd. 256 is not enough for me. If so I will gladly get the MBA.
