I honestly never wanted the larger phone, but in the last few months I started to notice that my normal size phone feels a bit small. Maybe it's old age :D
I didn’t until after I had purchased my 13 Pro last year. My sister had to go and use the big’un in front of me and I was sold. Surprisingly I was able to wait for the 14 to drop.

Yea, I played with a couple that my friends had, and couldn't quite figure out if I want it or not. I'm still not 100% sold on it, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with it and return the 14P :)

Hey guys, I'm considering getting a Max model for the first time, and it's huge size is my only concern. I am 6.1' and my hands are proportional. Anyone here, who made this change and has regretted it? Thanks!
What does height and hand size have to do with it, 2 women in my house with 11 pro and 12 pro max's and have never heard 1 complaint about them.

Gee, I don't know — maybe how it sits in your hand? I'm happy for the 2 women in your house, but I'm luckily not one of them, and was creating some context to my question here. Sorry if you struggled with that)

Think you are the one struggling, 5 weeks later and still can't decide. Hand exercises could help.

Any regrets? I’m also considering upgrading to the 14 Pro Max but am concerned it’ll be too big.
NONE. I also did myself a disservice by giving my 13 Pro to my wife two weeks before the 14's were due to arrive. The disservice was that I resorted to using her 12 mini for those 2 weeks(and couldn't even compare the size as she was out of town), which obviously made it even harder to go to a Max model. But after about 4-5 days I was pretty much convinced. Couldn't be happier. I can't say that I regret not doing it before, as I honestly didn't even consider a Max model before. But now I couldn't be happier and it almost doesn't feel any different than the 13 Pro this time last year.

Lugging around a larger iPhone daily can sometimes suck

But man oh man that huge screen and battery is worth it.

I watched a few World Cup games on my Max because I wasn’t home for a few and I am so glad I got the biggest iPhone because if you combine that with filling out the video with pinch to zoom — it was like a mini TV in your pocket lol. Barely any bezels edges to edge 6.7 OLED goodness.

AND THE SPEAKERS!!!

Recently went from the 13 Pro to 13 Pro Max (refurb in pristine condition with good battery capacity remaining).
Should've gotten the 13 PM initially but upgraded from the 8 Plus and wanted something relatively smaller so it fits better in pockets and when handling.
I missed the larger screen and eventually got the 13 PM (still have the 13 Pro which will most likely be passed down to a relative).

The 13 PM is very similar to the 8 Plus's dimensions.
Dimensions for the 13 Pro Max, 8 Plus then 13 Pro, respectively...
Height 6.33 inches (160.8 mm) 6.24 inches (158.4 mm) 5.78 inches (146.7 mm)
Width 3.07 inches (78.1 mm) 3.07 inches (78.1 mm) 2.82 inches (71.5 mm)
Depth 0.30 inch (7.65 mm) 0.30 inch (7.5 mm) 0.30 inch (7.65 mm)
Weight 8.46 ounces (240 grams) 7.13 ounces (202 grams) 7.19 ounces (204 grams)

Now I have a bigger screen though the battery life could be better.
The 13 PM had iOS 15.6 but after resetting and restoring the unit, it upgraded automatically to iOS 16.2.
iOS 15.7.1 isn't available any more as Apple really wants users to use the latest iOS 16.x version.
Now have to wait a few days for iOS to finish re-indexing itself as battery life drains a little faster, as expected from reading so many commenters note about iOS 16.x and battery performance.
The slight weight difference is not really an issue, esp. if one used to have the Plus model.
It's the bulky size that one needs to get used to, like the length height, but easier if you owned one of the previous Plus models.
Will most likely stick with the (Pro) Max model in the future and won't be needing to upgrade for another ~3~4 models.

I'll move to a larger phone only when my eyeglass prescription looks like this:

I’m 6’6” with hands proportional to my size and when I tried out the Max it didn’t look weird in my hand it looked like it fit fine but I guess I just like the comfort of a smaller phone. I also wear slim fit jeans so the regular pro model just fits my pockets. However I have alot of friends smaller than me who absolutely love the larger display and size. Give it a shot! You may love it!

Just get the Pro Max and be done with it.

People who go from the Pro Max to Pro give all the usual reasons to go Pro, and when they get the Pro they bitch about battery life and screen size issues. 😆

Moved from 12/13 Mini to 13 Pro, got used to the "big" phone after a couple weeks. Then my company ordered me a 14 Pro Max! I didnt have much trouble adjusting to the Max size, but it is more of a challenge for shorts and running and one-handed attempts. Hard part is I still have the 13 Pro and the Minis so I am constantly switching around, need to just pick one and move on... #firstworldproblems

I went from max to mini to pro. Pro is a great compromise. Max is too big. Huge bludge in my pocket looks unslightly and ugly. Too Heavy wearing my house shorts when relaxing at home and walking around with it. My pants sag to the left. Pro 6.1 is the best middle ground. I’d love my mini for 2 years but opening certain files was a pain to read.

Right people haven’t mentioned using the max with shorts. It’s ummm challenging. It pops out too on my gym shorts.

The pro Max just feels more premium with the larger screen, makes you more productive. I find the pro just a tad small... screen wise. of course the plus is perfect except for camera. I wonder why more don't try that model... camera is not even bad. The weight, a dream, would take away 90% of concern on here...

If you are considering it, then just go for it. It’s obvious that the regular pro is lacking something that’s giving you the itch. I say take the leap!

Thanks! Tried it already and stuck with it. Just the bigger screen, that's all I the normal Pro was lacking. :)
I'm the opposite OP. I've been using large iPhones since the 6 Plus. The 14 PM is just so heavy. I'm also tired of this huge screen. It's simply too big for my hands honestly. I'd be more forgiving if this thing unfolded to 8".

I find the 14 Pro too heavy though too. But that footprint is far easier to navigate personally.

I think the potential 15 Pro made of titanium is the ideal (non-folding) smartphone. It will be far lighter.

Ah, see — we're the opposite :) If I didn't want the larger screen, I would've never even considered a Max model. :)
