I'm in the public beta, currently running the iOS 10 GM. As soon as the public iOS 10 is out I would like to end my participation in the public beta and move to the official branch.

Am I right that, in order to do that, I need to put the phone in DFU mode, connect to iTunes and choose "upgrade"? This will remove the profile, and ensure that I'm on the official branch with no impact to my settings and data?

Thanks.

The GM is the official release that we will be getting Tuesday. Just remove the beta profile from settings and restart. You will no longer get beta updates.

You sure about this? So can I remove the profile even before the official version is released next week,

Yes, once you do that you'all be getting regular public updates (basically for anything that is newer than what you have already installed).

What the others have said is exactly right. I did the same thing last year and this year after getting the GM and didn't receive any future beta updates.
