I've owned one heck of a lot of Smartphones. Even a Galaxy Note. A phone that sold in huge volume, surprising everyone even Samsung.

In my case I use a smartphones features, all of them. Something that not everyone does. I use it like a laptop replacement when waiting in lines at airports, hotels, or anywhere it's busy & a wait is involved. I also read an interesting report about people like myself that are highly mobile and find it so much faster an easier to use a phone while standing or sitting for short periods of time. Only 9% of the time do we use ours as phones. At least that's my pattern & the results of two national surveys.

Therefore connecting on the net with my company, doing research, all business functions I use the net for are far more easy to accomplish when one has a spacious display. Tasks like these are very hard to do & take far more time using the tiny iPhone screen. Scrolling required is endless as compared to the Note. So, the bottom line is only you know how you work and what you need.

Yes I'm contemplating this right now too.
Ever since I got my HTC One X I have been using my phone more then my iPad.
So I think I could function just fine with a phone like the Note 2.

I use a Note and find myself using it more than my laptop unless it's for long assignments. Both of my laptops are in the shop right now so I've been using my Note for my homework assignments, put in graded for mmy students, coordinate on collaboration projects including having to do teleconference. Pretty cool.

Question for you. Does the Note come with (or have available on the Play app store) an app to add annotations to PDFs with the S-pen?

How is it for reading PDFs?

I think a tablet would excel in this area....thus my biggest dilemma

I just used one of my memo apps to open a PDF file, draw and write on it, and then save it. So, yep!

I deal with PDFs a lot and it's nice on this size of screen. My suggestion is you have a buyers remorse, check the note out. I've loved it. Others don't and return it.

At first, handling the note might be awkward but after a few days, most get used to it. As long as you're not wearing girl pants, it'll fit in your pocket.

Nice. That for me would be the biggest advantage. While I'm sticking with my GS3 for now, perhaps in a year I'll look towards a convergence product like the Note II (or Note III, presumably).

I could do it if iOS ever made it that big. With Android only, I'm not sure. I need the games to be up to snuff before I could go exclusive with a Phablet only. As a phone and every day device though, I love my Note. You really do get use to it after a while. It's kinda weird at times, but i feel like i wanted a larger screen! Then i make my self remember, yeah then you couldn't hold it lol.
