1. Should I go to the Apple Store or buy it online?

2. Can I get 3.33ghz processor at the Apple Store or only online?

I am very scared the my iMac will have the screen issues and the other stuff I keep reading about!!!!

Well, be prepared to run the standard tests and return it promptly if it has defects. A new issue is the backlighting. Black screens show light being emitted from all four corners. Looks pretty bad. Worse than the yellowing. There's a thread on it somewhere. Just another thing to look out for.

2. Online only.

Why? Can't he just order a 3,33GHz in the Apple Store? If the item is defective he can let the Person in the Store do the arguing with apple. And he can test it, in the shop, when it arrvies and directly say "leave it here, I want another"

You can only get customized models online.

thanks, I needed the extra specs.

I do a lot of recording running 5 or more pluggins at the same time and things get really pushed.

Congrats!!!! I read your OP, so I'm saying this now, PLEASE......when you open up, just USE it and ENJOY it. PLEASE.....don't look for problems or come here to verify what's not "right" with it. If you can't trust your own eyes and ears, why should you trust anyone here? Have fun. :)

I agree with this but would also add that if you have obvious problems with it then don't accept them.

It's a no brainer, buy it online. Amazon.com, free shipping and no state sales tax.

Couldn't disagree more. One should always be an informed consumer. Just because I'm dealing the the yellow tinge on my screen doesn't mean this person will or won't. There is only one objective way to judge whether you have a defective product, that is to do test on it. I've always inspected every expensive piece of hardware I've owned, and I'm not sure why anyone would request one do otherwise. Remember, they only have a few weeks to spot the problems before if they want to exchange the machine.

It's easy to see whether the problem is real or not. Simply run the digital color meter utility, and compare the image in the box to what you actually see at the point in the screen that seems yellow. Except for a few people who are easily impressionable, nobody will return a machine just because someone on here tells them that they too have had a problem. We make choices ourselves, based on what we want to live with and what we expect in a monitor.

I hope this person's machine doesn't have any issues, and there is no reason to assume that it will. However, if someone has a defective product, in no way should the be derided or discouraged from returning it.

Just enjoy it. Like a poster said above, don't assume there's a problem unless it's obvious. You'll love it. Now I'm jealous.

First of all congrats. I actually was in the apple store today looking at the iMac. I really want it. Let us know how it goes for you. I already have a mbp which I bought almost 6 months ago now. But I want a desktop to go along with it.

So again Let us know how it goes
