So, yeah, I'm going to get a new iPod shuffle. It's my first ever shuffle, so what do I need to know? And more importantly, what colour should I get it in? :p

The color doesn't matter. I chose the gray/silver/graphite color because it's a neutral color and will match with anything.

In terms of "knowing anything," the shuffle is undoubtedly the easiest iPod to use.

And congrats on getting one. I love mine. Compliments my MacBook and my iPhone perfectly.

I have a second gen shuffle in silver. They are excellent for activities when having an ipod on you is just not a good idea. I used mine at work for a long time when I was on my feet a lot. Other than the earbuds, you didn't know it was there.

As for color, definitely hot pink! :)

Since it is only 2GB, you'll want to keep your playlists up to date and change things up a bit. I fall asleep while listening to my shuffle, so things get boring quickly for me.

Mine's green because I like that color. :p

If you're a girl, get pink, if you're a guy, get the graphite one.

I just ordered a new shuffle today. Ive had the 2nd, 3rd and now 4th gen shuffle. I bought the 3rd gen because of the playlist ability, and bought the 4th gen today because my headphones were starting to crackle and decided I was tired of using the stock apple headphones. Also, having to take my hand out of my pocket to change the song when Im walking to class in the winter is never fun.

I am disappointed it is only in 2GB, because I really liked being able to have a ton of different playlists to choose from when I had the 4GB, but I am sure I will make due.

I have one playlist I call 1Shuffle, so it is the top of the playlists and has any music I would never mind listening to, which I have down to about 300 songs. Then I make playlists for individual artists or genres I am in the mood for. 1Shuffle always stays on, and I swap different artists in and out as my moods change.

It looks like I made the right choice then!! Will probably get silver or blue. I think the black buttons on the silver will sway me though.
