So my family and I are finally going to Europe, for our first time, to visit my Brother who lives in Spain now. I have a question on how our smartphones will work there?

All 4 of us, have Google Pixel phones, running on T-Mobile in the States. What do I need to do, so our phones will work there in Seville?

Should be easy to pick up a tourist pay as you go sim

Last time I was in Spain I used a UK pay as you go sim as there was no charge for roaming before Brexit, UK 02 still are free with roaming in Europe

Yea as Steve said above it shouldn't be hard to pick up a SIM and pop it in. I've only traveled to Europe once and that's what I did. I'm not sure any of the US carriers have good roaming plans for Europe like they do with Mexico or Canada, so it's probably going to be a must to get a sim on a local network.

I'm curious how this is going to work now that the iPhone ridiculously only has an eSIM option.

You can get online e-sims that work in many countries but they are not as cheap as local deals especially if your going for say a month

Last year we got an e-sim from O2 in UK to use there and in Italy but it's on a monthly set fee plan that can be terminated at anytime

Think it was around £10/month with calls and sms and around 5gb data but had to go to O2 shop to get.
