My 3GS is unlocked and jailbroken and on sunday i will be going to thailand for 2 weeks---would it be better to just buy a sim there and use it or bring my sim and use it?

also what type of adapter would i need to charge my phone there?
thank you very much.

ive been to thailand twice over the last couple of years, once with a locked iphone and once with an unlocked nokia n95.

with the nokia n95 i bought a 'happy' sim for about £1 at the time and put £10 credit on, this was the cheapest way to call back to the UK for me, much cheaper than using my usual o2 sim.

earlier this year i took my iphone and used my o2 account, i was there for a month and ran up a bill of about £250 including £6 per mb internet. far more expensive than a local sim.

thai sim cards can be bought in all 7-11 shops which are everywhere so there is definetly no shortage of opportunities to top up etc.

with regard to the charger, i took my normal iphone charger and plugged it straight into a 2 pin adapter, converting my normal UK plug into the thai 2 pin. These can be bought at airport terminals normally.

just watch the plug sockets in thailand, you are more than likely to see sparks flying when you plug things in, have a great time, its an awesome place.
