Hi. I was trying to use the create a watch thing on the Apple website, but I am unsure if the colors on the site actually match what it would look like in real life.

An Apple store is too far away for me to travel to it to look.

I was wondering if owners of gold cases could show me pictures of watches with different colored bands. What looks good with it, and what really does not?

I was thinking that the plum sports band might look nice, but it is currently unavailable in the 40mm size. Does that mean that it is just out of stock, or does that mean it is not only out of stock, but that it is also discontinued/will never become available again?

The Plum color looks really, really nice with a gold case. I have the sport band and my wife has the sport loop version and they both look great with her gold watch (can try and snag pictures later). Nobody really knows if Plum will come back into stock. Apple just restocked it on Thursday and the 40mm size was sold out a few hours later. It’s a very popular color. Best advice there would be to keep an eye out here and on the Apple Store app. If it comes back into stock, jump on it quickly!

If you don’t want to wait for Plum to buy your watch, I would think both Cyprus Green and Deep Navy would be good alternatives. Both should pair nicely with the gold. If you go with the green, you could pick up a Midnight Blue on eBay for around $20 as a second band. Midnight paired with a gold case has been an Apple mainstay for years. Midnight Blue is almost the same color as Deep Navy, just slightly less saturated.

Thanks. I was eyeing the Cyprus green as well, but was unsure how it would look with the gold watch.

Wow. Those plum bands must go really fast! I will check often on the Apple store app to see if it comes back in.

even if i dont own a golden watch, everytime i see a gold with a green strap... what an outstandingly beautiful color combo!
Yeah the gold with that shade of green is really sharp looking. It’s also not quite as obvious a choice as the gold/navy.

@TenthDoctor you might want to bookmark the Discounts thread. If Plum comes back into stock, you can bet someone will post it there in short order. We are a bunch of bandaholics on this forum! 😂

Awesome, thanks again for the feedback. If I can’t get the plum, I will get the green one. Or the blue.

As this is my first watch and would be my first/only sports band, I will want it to look nice.

I am assuming that the deep navy band is the same shade/color as the iPad Air 4 smartcover going by the same name?

Gold stainless steel or gold aluminum? They're different tones. FWIW, I think the product red one looks amazing with my gold stainless
