Hey all! So I am a golfer and currently have the Apple Watch SE for golf rounds. I wear the AWU for everyday use. The AWU is just o heavy for me to golf with. I’m hoping the bigger screen and thin design of the Apple Watch 10 will be perfect for golf. So what are you guys wearing to golf??

For the past two years I've been wearing the AW8 with a Sport Loop band for golf. After this Friday I'll be wearing an AWU2 with a Trail Loop band. The difference in weight is only 22 grams, I doubt I'll even notice it when swinging.

Have you played golf with the AWU2, yet? Curious how it went, thinking it’s more the size than the weight.

With the SSAW7, I wear it with the crown to the left, otherwise I sometimes get crown presses on my follow through.

Yes, I've played 9 rounds with the AWU2. I don't notice the weight any more than I did the AW8, but I do have some occasional inadvertent crown presses, which is a minor annoyance. I've adjusted by folding the cuff of my golf glove under (that's what seems to hit it the most), and wearing the watch a little higher on my wrist. It has cut down on them, but it still happens once in a while. I'm going to try a watch case on it to see if it makes any difference by protecting the crown a little more.

One of my regular golf partners has been using an AWU1 for quite a while longer, he had the same issues and he now wears his with the crown to the left. I'd rather deal with the occasional crown presses than do that, I just don't like the crown to the left. Hopefully the case will solve the problem, but if not I'll just deal with it - it's not that big of a deal to me.

I purchased the 10 45mm and it is exactly what i wanted on the golf course. The AWU for me is just too big to comfortably wear playing golf.

Whats the difference? 5 paper clips? 9? Does it affect your swing? I don’t golf and genuinely curious.

26.1g weight difference (just under an ounce) between the AW10 and AWU for the OP. For me it's a 22.7g difference between my AW8 and AWU2.

Funny thing - I played a different shaft in my driver today that's 12g lighter than the one I've been playing for the past year. I can definitely feel the 12g difference in shaft weight, but when I changed from the AW8 to AWU2 on my wrist there was absolutely no difference in feeling to me, and it has had no effect on my swing/ball flight.

As an unrelated aside, I tried a watch case on the AWU2 today to try to eliminate the inadvertent crown presses. It helped, but it also affected the screen sensitivity and was missing a lot of touches. I use a golf app on my watch that requires a lot of interaction/touches to track shots and keep score, and it was highly aggravating. I took it off the watch after 9 holes and won't be using it in the future, I'd rather deal with the occasional accidental crown presses.

lol paper clips????? What does that even mean? Yes golf is a very big feel game and the large bulky watch is uncomfortable for me

A paperclip is approx 1 gram. There are 20-25 paperclips of weight difference between the two (S10 and Ultra). To me that's inconsequential but obviously not to everyone. There have been threads asking if the Ultra is too heavy to be used while lifting weights. For golf, as I mentioned, I don't play, so curious how much difference it makes.

Obviously it's completely subjective. It apparently bothers OP a great deal, I don't even notice it. I know golfers who refuse to wear any kind of watch while playing because it's uncomfortable for them.
