Hey guys

i have been thinking about this for a long time, but i desided to wait until the updates, now when the updates came out im not sure what to pick

i will use my iMac to web browsing, programming, some movie editing(not HD) and maybe some games, at first i was thinked of the 24" with 9400M, but i have desided to have my mac for 3 years and i am not sure if it will hold, maybe i will have to go with the 2.93 ghz with better graphic card... Will 9400M be able to run Sims 3 good?

Thanks for all answers

If you know you're going to use it as your main rig for 3 years and do some gaming I'd go for the upgraded one.

I bought the 1499 one today just because I have a high end Vista machine for my gaming rig and a Macbook pro notebook.

I am going to use this at home for Mac Desktop and the 9400m will do me well enough for minor occasional game on it and mainly work related tasks.

Those few hundred bucks for the next level video card will do you well I think over the time you plan to keep it.

Thanks for the reply, i will really have to think about it... if im going for the 2.93 Ghz i really want the radeon Card, but then i have to wait even more...

Same boat here. I am also looking at the 2.8 ghz refurb. It has a slightly better graphics card than the new 2.63 but not as good as the 2.93 model.

i have the 20" imac and its great, i personally like lappys better, but its a fine desktop, its a little old, (2.0 c2d 1gb ram) but its a great computer

I completely understand about the wait. I can't stand it either, but I will say that Radeon 4850 with 512mb ram will be a very nice and noticeable upgrade specifically for gaming at that resolution of 1920x1200.

If you don't mind running slightly reduced at say 1680x1050 the NvidiaGT 256 will do fine I would think , but that increased VRAM on the Radeon will really help at 1920.
