I'm about to JB but i cant decide what to use to do it..
1,I'm looking at using RedSnow, is that a good idea?
2,But i want to know if installer is better than cydia?
3, If i use redsnow is it tied to cydia?

Any body have a certain tool and process please post...
I have a iphone 3G running 3.0 and a computer running windows XP SP3.

iclarified(.com?) would have the guides to get you going. I've never used installer, only cydia, so I wouldn't have any input on that. i used redsn0w 0.7.2 to JB, and it couldn't have been easier

1. Redsn0w is the standard program for jailbreaking, use it.

2. Installer is old news. Use Cydia or the faster alternative Icy.

3. With redsn0w you only get the option to install Cydia, if you use pwnage tool, you have the option to install Icy also.

On the version of redsnow i used i had the option to have icy aswell there was Cydia and Icy but i only chose Cydia as that is what the guide said that i was following.
