Good for windows:
CAD software

Bad for Mac:
No CAD software (at least not mainstream software)

This eliminates all desire for engineering firms to have macs even though you can run windows on a mac.

>Interface / workflow
>Range of available software
>Available on a wide range of rigs

3 bad things about Windows

>The hassle with anti spyware / virus software
> Ugly color choices for customizing Vista
> Internet Explorer (Which completely fails as a modern browser) & That you can't uninstall it

3 good things about Mac

>Easy program install / uninstall
> No hassle with anti virus / spyware software

3 bad things about Mac

>slsk for mac is a disaster.
>I don't like the candy'd up dock on Leopard. (Don't like the dock at all, actually)
> Terrible Flash performance
> Limited choice of hardware.

(Sorry, I made that 4 things there... but those just needed saying, in my opinion)

EDIT: Lol @ the poll results.

foolproof apple winner

when apple includes software to run all windows applications (including games) out of the box (hopefully 10.8) there will be nothing system related that windows users can brag about.

Imagine gaming on a 16 core nehalem mac pro with FOUR NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 running FOUR 30" cinema displays

Depending on your definition of system - they will. Mac's will still be far more expensive than equiv PC hardware. Why would someone throw away more money than necessary on a machine just to run a different OS to run the same Apps? For some people, believe it or not ( and I times, I find this ) - OSX is frustrating as hell. Some of it's design decisions aid productivity and some, really, do not.

+PC
Cheap hardware
DIY systems
Software availability

-PC
Driver problems
Anti Virus required
No Keynote.

+Mac
Keynote
USGS ISIS 3
Multitouch trackpad

-Mac
Overly expensive
Poor hardware design decisions
Poor GIS options.

+ Windows
• Broad range of supported apps
• Need For Speed
• Ummm...

- Windows
• Insecurity
• OS degeneration
• Clunky UI & Interoperability
• Oh dang, I'm limited to just three....

+ Macintosh
• Stability, Security & Reliability
• OS Speed
• Document & window handling (I guess the general UI interactivity)

- Macintosh
• Lack of broad installation (but I don't need any Windows apps anyway so I guess it's moot)
• Lack of Need For Speed
• ... I honestly can't think of No. 3
