Good android phone to use?

So my iPhone screen cracked and I don't have insurance. I know stupid. So anyway, I'm looking for a phone on Verizon that's cheap and it's not on a contract. I would like a droid but maybe you could suggest something on Craigslist. And I still have 15 months left on my contract as of today. BTW

Christ. Verizon of all places. The only phones worth buying are the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Nexus. The Nexus can be picked up on the cheap so get that if you don't want to spend that much money.
