I've got the Neuburg book from O'Reilly. It's passable. Be prepared to get frustrated with Applescript though-- it's trial and error all the way through the development process... The book makes that point over and over.

hmmm, that book doesnt seem to get great reviews on amazon. il keep it in mind. any other suggestions? what books have you guys used?
