Does anyone have some good apps for the photographer that they can recommend?
I'm curious what people use for editing on the iPad or even iPhone or other supplemental apps - Photopills for example seems to get plaudits although I have no experience of it.

From my perspective, my most used photography related apps are Affinity Photo, Snapseed, RAW Power and EXIF Viewer by Fluntro. Always on the look out for other regarded apps though.

I used to use VSCO a lot, but I actually rarely edit photos on my phone anymore. Sometimes Snapseed, which you already mentioned, for a quick clean edit. Mostly I hate how there ends up being 14 versions of the same image once you get through all the processing.

If you use LR, there is also a LR mobile app.

I don't use Lightroom and since I'm purely an amateur, I see no value in the subscription model. I do most of my editing on the iPad Pro as I just find it more convenient for individual images. If I'm working through a lot of images though I'll do so on the Mac.

Well I'm a hobbyist too, but do the vast majority of my editing in LR and have used it since LR1. But I appreciate the avoidance of a subscription model. I just rely on it too much so pay for it.

Yup, I tried out Lightroom a couple of times but just preferred Aperture so stuck with that. I used to use Photoshop a lot years ago for editing but moved away from that as it became more bloated and not been much of an Adobe fan since. Some great tools but just not for me.

I don’t edit photos on the iOs platform but I use two apps on an iPod touch - Cascable as a wireless camera controller and utility and DoF as a useful focus calculation tool (depth of field, hyper focal distance etc).

That depends if n the results you need and your source.
My real estate company wants raw photos were only one was edited.

Photoshop is great.
The photos app on ipad and macs adjusts weak lighting, color and trim both iPad and other camera photos.
The results are professional and web ready.
That is all I use, for now.

Earlier today I purchased and downloaded Luminar 2018 on my MBP, and so far I've had a lot of fun with it and of course am also still learning the ins-and-outs of the program. That's on a Mac, though, not an iOS device. I have some apps on my iPhone and iPads but to be honest, I really prefer transferring everything (which isn't much) that I've shot on the iPhone or iPad to my Mac (via Image Capture) and then dealing with processing/editing images on that machine rather than on the iPhone or iPad.

Does anyone use or have any thoughts on Photopills, Planit! For Photographers, The Photographers Ephemeris, Sunsurveyor Pro or similar apps? I’m leaning towards one of the first two but a lack of trials in the App Store are a pain.

The Photographers Ephemeris,

Great tool if sunrise/sunset locations are factors in your shoots:

For depth of field I used to use DOF Master but it's now too old to download.

Affinity seems like a pretty comprehensive app, though it may be a bit overwhelming to start. It’s on sale now. It’s a bit expensive for an app, but quite cheap compared to Adobe’s subscription model.
I second that ! Affinity is great and does everything you need. I am amateur and started using affinity after aperture ceased as le was to pricy. I love this app!
