i just got my dads 1st gen iphone using that as ipod now liking it beter than my first gen ipod anyway im wondering what are some good camera apps that are around the app store

a couple

Photogenie for sure it's a tine photoshop kit on you iphone colorspash is cool they have a lite version and a paid. I like old camera as well basically just it makes pics look like they were taking buy a old camera. Izoom is ok appears to allow you to zoom in but it is more of a auto cropping tool. which you can do with photogenie. stay away from Camera Zoom why this is the number one App is beyond me it crashes won't even load. still on version 1.0 so it is never updated the DEV is making allot of money and just enjoying it. only .99 but still Dev with number 1 apps are making a pretty decent living this guy is a disgrace to the other dev out there that work hard to improve there products. those are some of my fav's

Check out the other active photo editting thread for good recommendations. Photogene and Photoforge are great, Photoforge pulls details out of shadows using some 'curve' tool. Works pretty well so far (just downloaded tonight).

I agree with the above.
Based on the recommendation in the other thread I downloaded photoforge and am loving it so far. Really makes the camera provided with the 3GS shine. Even works well with my 3G.

I also enjoy Polarize and Brushes but they're more for fun rather than serious photography.

I have quite a few Photography apps because I have a ton of fun with them.
There are some great free ones -
Polarize
Mill Colour
Color Canvas
The Vint series (Vint Green/Red/Shift)

I also Bought CameraBag, which has great filters.

I use CameraBag for my photoblog, it makes for fun looking photos

I also use Photoforge, think of it as a very rudimentary photoshop. It's great for on the go adjustments.

I currently have:

Camerabag: One of the first apps I bought, great for filters!

Quad camera: A Lomo Actionsampler effect camera, more gimmicky than useful...

SnapFilters: Quirky little app, can change the vignette, colour, have a square format photo, and so on....plus it's FREE.

Mill Colour: Free 'Looks' photo app, very good, I use this all the time.

Panorama: Expensive but well worth the money great for creating panoramic photos, either portrait or landscape.

Mobile Fotos: Flickr Uploader and viewer, great interface.

Colorsplash: Great app, a must buy.

Polarize: Free app, for the 'Polaroid' look

Vintage Series: Red, Black etc.

Photobox: Free app from the makers of polarize, another 'looks' app, but in it's early stages, I've had issues with resolution hopefully will be sorted in the next update.

I have others but, but too many to mention, hope this helps all :D

This is a great thread. As someone who only casually takes pictures and never thought of even looking for photo apps, this is really helpful.

stay away from Camera Zoom [/B]why this is the number one App is beyond me it crashes won't even load. still on version 1.0 so it is never updated the DEV is making allot of money and just enjoying it. only .99 but still Dev with number 1 apps are making a pretty decent living this guy is a disgrace to the other dev out there that work hard to improve there products. those are some of my fav's

The Camera Zoom update has been stalled in the Apple app approval process; why Apple is not okaying the update is a mystery. I bought it as soon as I got my [first] iPhone, and still assume the update will be released. No, the dev is not a disgrace, esp if the delay is on Apple's shoulders. Still, CameraZoom was behind the eightball if they submitted it so late that it missed (so far by three weeks) the 3.0 release.

I love Photogene and Camerabag. Just picked up Photo Forge on sale for $.99. More control than photogene. Looks great so far.

you don't need any camera apps. the default one is fine!

Why would you even post something like that and think anyone would believe it?

I love Pano, it does a great job at panoramic pictures. And if you want to send those pictures someplace at full size, I've had great luck with MailPhotos.

AutoStich is great. Better than Pano IMHO. PhotoForge, ColorSplash, Photoboard and Brushes are other camera apps I like.

I like Auto-stitch (i couldn't believe how well this app works) and Colorsplash makes some good looking shots.

Gonna give CameraBag a go now.

Good thread :)
