Hi,

New to this forum so I hope I am not breaking any guidelines I missed about posting threads, if so I am terribly sorry in advance!

I have just ordered my M1 MBP 14'' after my old Intel MBP from 2015 dying on me earlier this fall.

I am now looking to buy a wireless keyboard and mouse combo to connect to it.

I do not need it to be fancy at all, all I want is for it to work seamlessly, be cheap and reliable. I am mainly going to use the computer for school work, using Office 365 apps (A lot of PowerPoint and Excel), maybe some coding and watching the occasional movie.

I looked at some Logitech combos but all of them seemed to be connected by a USB-A dongle, which of course is not present in the new MBP 14'' I/O ports. Do anyone here have some recommendation for a keyboard and mouse combo?

All the best,
Alex

I have two or three of Logitech's K380. It's an awesome keyboard and you can find it slightly used on eBay for around $20 shipped. And, I'd pair it with Logitech's Triathlon mouse which is a good all around bluetooth mouse.

To your point above, most of Logitech's offerings work via bluetooth OR the dongle. In most cases, you don't need it.

Thank you for the reply!
I looked into it at saw the the K380 did not have the full regular keyboard layout which I would prefer to have, my bad for not specifying it!

Regarding the Triathlon mouse it costs 75$ here in Sweden which for me is a bit too pricy.

Thank you for your time and recommendations though :)

I have used the macally full-size solar keyboard (about $25), but to be honest I tend to revert to the Apple keyboard. I just like its feel better.

The Microsoft Bluetooth Desktop set is pretty good. Comes in black or white. Chiclet style design which I am not a huge fan of for a regular keyboard, but it gets the job done.

Going for $36 directly @ microsoft.

I am slightly obsessive about keyboards and mouses - I have a box full of keyboards and mouses / trackpads which did not meet my use-habits. In the useless box includes Apple mouses (all of them), Apple trackpads (all of them), various mini / travel mice (all of them).

So far, I've settled on:

- The Apple Wireless Keyboard, model A1314 - this is the third or 4th generation one that runs off 2 AA batteries (not the Magic Keyboard). You can find them very cheaply used, and they are well built, work very well and are basically the same layout as your MacBook keyboard, which is very handy for seamless shifting between laptop and wireless keyboard. They're small so they fit in a bag easily, and don't take up much room on your desk, and give you more space / less RSI for mouse use.

- A decent bluetooth mouse. Your preference is more important than mine, but I like the HP Bluetooth Mouse X4000, I just broke mine after many years of use. They were around $100 new, but now you can get them for $25-20 on eBay. If you don't like them, look up other expensive non-exotic mouses from a couple of years ago and see what you can get them for on eBay.
