I was wondering if the specifications on this iMac are a good choice:

• 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
• 250GB Serial ATA drive
• ATI Radeon X1600/256MB VRAM
• SuperDrive 8x (DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW)
• Keyboard & Mighty Mouse + Mac OS X - U.S. English
• Accessory kit
• 20-inch widescreen LCD
• 2GHz Intel Core Duo
• AirPort Extreme
• Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR

I'll be running Windows for these games:

Battlefield 2

F.E.A.R.

Far Cry

Call of Duty 2

The Movies

Joint Operations

America's Army

The games I'll run on Mac OS Tiger:

Quake 4

Doom III

Call of Duty 2 (If it doesn't work on Windows).

(I'm mainly a first-person shooter fan as you can tell).

Back in Tiger this iMac will be doing music recording, some games, iChat etc.

Is this a good choice for an iMac?

Whats bad about them (Or are you just being sarcastic)? They are the best you can get for an iMac.

I don't mean to state the obvious but if you are buying the machine to play Windows games why don't you just buy a much cheaper and higher spec'd Windows PC? The things you said you wanted to do using OS X can be done easily enough in Windows, are you sure you are buying the right machine for what you actually need?

I do have a lot of games for Windows, but I'm spending like 90% of my time in Mac OS X.

I'm 100% sure that I want a Mac, I've had too many problems with PCs and I'm ready to switch.

(Hey and thanks for the quick replies)

In that case go for it, although if you have the money to spend on an uber-Mac you might want to wait until August 7 to see what Apple release in the pro desktop range (having said that there may be a huge wait after the keynote for delivery).
