Has anyone seen a good deal on a Dell 2405 recently? I've been watching techbargains and I haven't seen any of those killer deals of the last few months ($779 or something ridiculous like that).

I'm looking to buy, but not willing to fork over retail for something I know sold for less..

Sorry, I have seen none.

Keep looking, you are bound to run into one sooner or later. :)

In a nice place..
I would assume that Dell, hurting after their last quarter, might not be doing as many 35% off LCD deals. (which would be a bummer, as I might be in the market for the 24" in December) Sure they move some product, but they can't be making much money on those deals, if any at all. I assume managements goal was to raise sales, cut costs, hoping to turn a profit.

eBay my friends...

I got mine for $809.00 shipped from eBay. It was brand new and works perfectly. All you need is a little patience, and you can get one of these bad boys for CHEAP. There's tons of these for sale on ebay. You can always "Buy It Now" for $850 shipped. - Or you can wait and watch and snag one for real cheap if you want. Good luck!

Dell is not usually going to post their best prices online unless there's a specific sale.

Just call Dell and tell them you've seen the 2405 all over the web for $800 or less SHIPPED and you want one.

You can try small business or the education store.

Mine was $782.25 SHIPPED direct from Dell

That does make sense to call them direct and I doubt they would pass up a guaranteed sale...

This may be the best bet.

i've tried that 3 times. i have a premier account with dell thru the company i work for. we spend thousands of dollars on computers, printers, and monitors every month. i've asked our dell rep to give me the best price on the 2405fpw and each time he has told me right under $900 plus tax plus shipping. i emailed him for the fourth time earlier today and told him i am seeing these things sell for roughly $750 shipped on ebay. he insists they are either refurbs or open box items. i interrupted and disagreed with him immediately. needless to say, he is of no help at all. so what did i do?

i went on ebay and bought one tonight. won it for $736 shipped! what a deal! brand new, factory sealed, warranty started on nov 26th!

i cant wait to tell the bastard on monday... ;)
